There’s a new kid in town and this was one that we just happen to run into unexpectedly (thanks Michelle for the recommendation). Opening this past October, owner Pasha Heidari opened The Bowen House located on 2614 Boll Street to the public. Born and raised in Dallas, this city kid came from a long line of local restaurant owners. Being that he wanted to make something on his own, he decided to venture off and bring a different feel and taste of bars to Dallas,Tx.
Built in 1874, The Bowen House, formally a resale shop was transformed into an “1800’s-style Victorian salon.” According to Heidari, his mission was to “provide a good place to relax and a different experience for people around Dallas.” As a family guy, his humbleness and appreciation for history definitely reflects in the way he created The Bowen House and the way he treats his customers - with open arms and a friendly welcoming presence.
Outside of their upcoming classic drink menu, their highly skilled and trained bartenders are trained to custom make any drink that you desire. You tell them what you like and they make it happen!
This drink was one of my favorites – The Astoria (It’s like Christmas in a glass). Their use of detail in their beverages down to the vintage style glasses are so creative and different.
As a music guru, I had to point out that Heidari’s taste in music for his bar was unlike I have never heard before at most places (I LOVED IT). The sound of earthly, retro and calm music gives this vintage style bar a great vibe and relaxed feel. Decorated with soft tones of brown woods, a fireplace, pictures of current family members and vintage pictures of people from the 1800’s... this place will really take you back in time.
They also offer a small menu of smoked BBQ like foods (not your usual Texas BBQ) at a great price point along with a highly trained and welcoming management/wait staff that will make you feel right at home.
We want to thank The Bowen House staff and Mr. Heidari for giving us such a great experience. We would highly recommend this bar to anyone that wants a little taste of history and a good place to relax and feel welcome.
