Every traditional family values the idea of when you come home to a big family meal and relax over conversations about how school went for the kids and what the agenda is for the weekend. As one of the best fine Italian restaurants in Dallas, Mi Piaci started their family owned business with that same concept - the idea of going to a restaurant that made you feel as if you were in your own home.
Starting as a family owned business, the Black’s and a close family friend Signora Marchella, came to create what would soon become Mi Piaci, while meeting during a cooking class in Vienna. After being inspired by some of the most original fine Italian cuisines and recipes, both the Black’s and Signora Marchella created some of Mi Piaci’s most valued and signature dishes. The families’ main notion was to bring an original taste of Italy back home. They wanted to show their customers the true love for fine Italian food and most important, showing that a restaurant is more than just somewhere you eat, it’s a place where you can see as being home with the family. Mi Piaci, which in Italian means, “you are pleasing to me” values the idea of making their guest feel welcome and apart of the family. As the Mi Piaci's motto says, “we either make it from scratch or import it from Italy.”
“Owners Brian and Sonia Black have always been passionate about great food and wine. They celebrate this passion through Mi Piaci’s selection of the freshest seafood dishes and house-made pastas. Their wine list continuously receives the Gold Medal Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator with 2013 being no exception. “ VolkPR
As you make your way downstairs, the atmosphere consist of light music, beautifully set tables, and best of all, a fully stocked bar that provides you the option of watching a football game over a large flat screen TV.
As you go upstairs the vibe opens up to a more nighttime feel where you can sit and chat with friends over cocktails. It also makes the perfect place to bring a date or friend for a special occasion. Don’t forget to treat yourself to their signature house made Limoncello! This is one shot that will bring a smile to your face. It’s the perfect taste of sweet and bliss all in one. We would also suggest asking your server about some of our other classic favorites such as the Italian Rita, the Milan Mule, and the Italian Sparkling Pear Martini.
JT enjoying the SPAGHETTINI NERI - a housemade black spaghetti with butter poached blue crab and chili butter (we gave it a DOUBLE +1!)
We also enjoyed the following entrees and appetizers for the evening and we would highly recommend anyone to try them.
- PROSCIUTTO DI PARMA - Thinly shaved Prosciutto di Parma with seasonal melons and fruit (the perfect appetizer if you're in search of something on the healthier side)
- SAL SICCA E FUNGHI - Housemade Italian sausage and cremini mushroom. If you're a pizza lover, you'll LOVE this!
We want to personally thank Mi Piaci for welcoming us to dine at their restaurant. We highly enjoyed meeting the staff and we loved getting to try all their amazing selection of foods and beverages. Also, thank you VolkPr in asking us to be a part of this amazing opportunity.
