You've heard the name many times and you may have even flown right over it on your way into DFW. It's known as one of the many pride and joys to our Lady Dallas for which it shows by lighting the Dallas skyline with vibrant luminescent colors almost every night. Most commonly known as "The Ball," its official name being Reunion Tower, sits 560 feet high as the 15th tallest building in Dallas. looking backStarting as far back as 1974 it was this year that Dallas broke ground to start this historical project. The GeO-Deck opened in 1978, but closed for renovation in 2007. It wasn't until 2013 that Reunion Tower reopened to the public and took a huge turn for the best with all its new features and tourist activities. Touring the tower![]() We started our tour by visiting the Reunion Tower gift shop. From stuffed animals, Dallas t-shirts, Dallas candy and souvenirs it was comforting to know that you could leave with something special to remember your day at Reunion Tower. a memorable momentBefore heading up to see the view from up above, we had the opportunity to pose in front of the camera using some pretty interesting, yet funny props. We did our best to make it a good one! up we go! |
As we took the 68 second elevator ride up, we were kindly greeted by their elevator attendant that spoke not only about the Tower's history, but gave us a number of facts and additional information about our soon-to-be experience. The 50-acre Reunion Project was one of the nation’s first private-public ventures and included the construction of Reunion Tower, the Hyatt Regency Dallas at Reunion hotel, Reunion Arena and renovation of the 1916-vintage Union Station. |

the view says it all
As we made our way outside, the view said it all.
looking back from up above
Our Reunion Tower tour ended with a trip into the Halo which consisted of touchscreens that featured historical facts and a 3D view of the city. What a great way to mix fun and education all-in-one.
making a lasting memory
We couldn't leave home without a memorable picture of our day at Reunion Tower. After selecting our favorite picture from when we first arrived, we had the option to add a little creativity by adding our own background.
