We all know Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and cupid will soon be knocking at peoples’ doors with flowers and candy. But for some, like philanthropist and CEO of Hard Night Good Morning skin care, D’Andra Simmons, will be celebrating her Valentine’s Day a little different. How is that?...Well let’s just say her Valentine’s Day weekend will be more like a celebration of love with family and friends over a huge white cake and a number of flowers and candies everywhere! Yes, we said it! This little gal will be walking down the isle of love in less than two weeks.
Announcing their engagement this past summer while on the beaches of Rodanthe, NC., Simmons and her fiancé Jeremy Lock will soon be married here in Dallas during the weekend of Valentine’s Day.
For the sake of love, we wanted to get the 411 on the couples thoughts before the big day.
MyPlusOne: “Jeremy. What would you say is your favorite, most loved thing about D’Andra?”
Jeremy: “Her eyes draw you in so you can hear and feel her huge heart, by then you are caught and in love!!!!”
MyPlusOne: “Jeremy, what is one of your most loved memories with D'Andra while you were dating?”
Jeremy: “There are so many, she is my unicorn! Maybe the time I was watching from a second floor window as she played soccer with my boys. It was over the first weekend she met them. I am looking forward to a lifetime of loved memories with her!!!”
MyPlusOne: D’Andra, what made you fall in love with Jeremy?
D’Andra: “Well, he’s HOTT, for one, so immediately I noticed he was “easy on the eyes” as they say, and he has beautiful baby blues. After that, I was really drawn to him for his affable nature and his love of life in general. Jeremy is never in a bad mood. He always has a good attitude no matter what the circumstances. He sees the best in every situation. He never complains, and he is always genuinely happy to see me at the end of a long day. There is something to be said for that!”
MyPlusOne: “What is one of your most loved memories while dating Jeremy?”
D’Andra: “When we first started dating we would see each other 2 times per month for the first year and a half or so. Most of the time I would fly to DC and we would spend the weekends in Annapolis, where he lived at the time in a house on the water. Those times are still very precious to me because we were getting to know each other and we spent most of the time alone without anyone else but the two of us. One time on the third date or so, we went to a minor league baseball game. I was less than thrilled to go at first, but I had a blast. I remember nothing about the game that night. I was all butterflies in my stomach! I was just so happy to be with him and doing something he enjoyed and wanted to share with me. We have a lot of special moments like that. I still get butterflies every time I see him.”

Now who is the lucky guy? Ladies and gents meet Jeremy Lock - a retired Master Sergeant for the United States Air Force and Air Force combat photojournalist. As a former resident from the Washington, DC area, Lock recently moved to Texas to settle down and begin another career. In a brief interview with Lock, he mentioned his desire of working for a great cause. “I am looking/would like to work for some NGO's. Something I can sink my teeth into and love while bringing light to a great cause.” He has been awarded as a seven time winner of the Military Photography of the Year, along with his work being featured in wide variety of media such as the National Geographic, Time Magazine, the New York Times, and much more. “Besides my sons, I think winning the Military Photographer of the Year for the seventh time means the most to me... I feel like I left a legacy in the military for junior members to look up to, shoot for, and hopefully attain one day. A second award would be when I took second place in World Press Photo. My name is now next to some of the greatest names in photojournalism, the guys I look up to!”
Below is a small look at his last project called "Sacred Water."
Lock: “Hindus consider the waters of the Ganges to be both pure and purifying. The Ganges is a sacred river to Hindus along every fragment of its length. All along its course, Hindus bathe in its waters, paying homage to their ancestors and to their gods by cupping the water in their hands, lifting it and letting it fall back into the river; they offer flowers and rose petals and float shallow clay dishes filled with oil and lit with wicks. They collect and carry small quantities of river water with them for use in rituals. It is believed that a dip in the holy waters of Ganges frees one of all sins and also liberates from the sufferings of birth and death."
"I wanted to show my latest work because I feel you are only as good as your last shoot.“ - Jeremy
